A writers' retreat in Connemara, Ireland

Three en-suite rooms for writers from around the world.

Writers – new and experienced – are invited to join our Connemara writers’ retreats, in a literary house on the wild Atlantic coast.

Here we host individual group and bespoke writers’ retreats, for writers of fiction, memoir, non-fiction, memoir, poetry and other genres .

We offer a house with three en-suite bedrooms, where we host three individual writers, or groups of up to five.

The rooms are themed on Irish writers: James Joyce, Oscar Wilde and Edna O’Brien.

The house is fully equipped with everything you might need, including reading material and a lounge where you can relax around a real fire.

There is a large garden, and it’s right by the sea, surrounded by mountains, beaches and wonderful places to explore; we’re a stone’s throw from the Wild Atlantic Way, ten minutes’ drive from Kylemore Abbey, and near to the beautiful towns of Letterfrack, Tully Cross and Clifden.

Bespoke retreats planned according to your requirements

Maybe you just need some time and space to get away from it all, relax, and return to your craft. The house is a perfect venue for simple, quiet writing getaways.

And if you wish for support and more interaction, we can arrange that for you too. There is an option to receive mentoring from our resident writer, Parchin Heanue, who has been published for many years under the name Karren Ablaze!.

We can also schedule retreats with guest authors, depending on your wishes and availability.

Retreats are generally self-catering, and we can order food in for you in advance, but if you require a caterer please let us know and we will do our best to arrange this.
